This memory is one that is very connected to one of the girls at Hananasif Academy, who I became close friends with in 2008.

Her name is Msekwa. One day we decided that I should pretend to be her and she would pretend to be me. I only spoke Swahili and she only spoke English. I gave her a tour of the school and the shamba and she asked me questions.

We had lots of good laughs and it was a time of bonding. It was just a lot of fun! I have only spoken to her once since I last saw her, but we laughed together even then. She is amused by some of my mannerisms and expressions.

I love her and can’t wait to share more laughs with her soon.

This is Msekwa.
