As I was watching the kids play this evening at the center I was reminded of how much of a blessing it is to be here and to know these children.

Ninamshukuru Mungu kupata nafasi kuwajua watoto hawa. Ninabarikiwa kuwajua and kukaa na wao.

I looked at their faces and thanked God for giving me the chance to know them and to stay with them. It truly is a blessing to me.

I need to remember these moments in the moments and days when I am tired and teaching and working with the children is difficult. Even with the difficulties, it is a blessing to be here and to know the children and students of HOCET, like Hussen Juma pictured below.

As I read this, I think days like days and difficult days are special gifts wrapped in different packages. Can’t wait to hear more whether minute or major

    miss you Iris.

I know the feeling… I get so tired and frustrated with my kids and sometimes teaching them is sooo hard, BUT then one of them does something to make my heart smile and i realize i do it all cause i love them 🙂
